If you are more interested in German sedans, this article should make you happy.

If we talk about the Bavarian brand BMW, and if we look at the Motorsport side, several models come to your mind: M2, M3, M4, M5,... there are more models than gears in their box.

Today we're going to look at the M4: not the CS, not the GTS, but even rarer, the M4 DTM Champion Edition.

In 2014, Marco Wittman won the vintage DTM championship, on this occasion BMW had decided to release an M4 DTM Champion Edition in 23 copies (like the number of the driver).

Two years later, the same driver won the title again on the Hockenheim circuit. This time the manufacturer decided to produce a new version of the M4 DTM in 200 copies. This made it even rarer than the M4 GTS, which was produced in 700 units and was the most powerful version of the 4 series until then.

This M4 DTM is nothing else than an M4 GTS in disguise! It has the same engine, a 3.0L twin-turbocharged in-line 6-cylinder with water injection (different from the classic M4). It offers 500 hp and 600 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9s and reaches a top speed of 305 km/h (electronic flange...)!

This model has been lightened to the maximum with the sole purpose of devouring the track! Indeed, carbon and carbon fiber reinforced plastic parts are used everywhere: hood, diffuser, spoiler, front blade, dashboard structure, bucket seats...

Inside, only two bucket seats have been kept: the rear seat has been removed in order to fit a roll bar almost identical to the real M4 of Mr. Wittmann: we are still close to the structure of the GTS.

As for braking, the car is equipped with carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (approved for the road but specially developed for the circuit).

A unique configuration proposed on this DTM: white with the colors of BMW Motorsport.

A collector that cost not far from 150000 euros at its release!
